PUTERI Buddies Program
The PUTERI Buddies Program, organized since 2016, is an award-winning initiative that provides an effective social support system for students.
The program was founded by Professor Dr. Normala Ibrahim, Consultant Psychiatrist and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Universiti Putra Malaysia. It is also mentored by Dr. Nor Rahidah Abd Rahim, Consultant Psychiatrist (Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Hospital Permai Johor Bahru), who continues to guide and strengthen the program’s impact.
The program is conducted monthly, with participation from PUTERI alumni volunteers who serve as Buddies. Alumni provide guidance, encouragement, and emotional support to Form 1 and Form 2 students, helping them to grow, adapt, and build confidence.
Through these meaningful interactions, the Buddy Program fosters strong bonds between alumni and students, while nurturing the next generation of SSP girls with values of sisterhood, resilience, and excellence.
